UNDP Conducts Training for Civil Society Organizations (CSO)

                                                    Strengthening grassroots capacities

The Untitled Nations Development Program (UNDP) is conducting training for Civil Society Organizations aimed at “Strengthening Grassroots Capacities”.  The training is taking place in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, and is attended by the Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia (SCNL) and other civil servant organizations.  The CSO Capacities Building training is geared towards strengthening Grassroots Organizations Capacity in diverse areas of projects proposal development, results-based Management and reporting, and financial reporting and documentation.

It is also comprised of a formulation of a computerized-based system called “QUANTUM” which seeks to promote online platforms for CSOs and Individual Contractors to search UNDP proposal notices and follow steps for applying has been introduced. By this, CSOs and individual contractors will track the status of their submitted proposal review process(s) without contacting anyone, once they are enrolled on the platform. The reporting aspect is to further train projects and finance staff on effective and efficient reporting and requirements of the UNDP Grant Management. SCNL Finance Officer, Henry V. Sambolah is representing the institution said the training has been helpful for all participants, and thanked UNDP for such an opportunity.
