The International Waterbirds Census in the African- Eurasian Flyway has been ongoing in many African and European countries including Liberia’s neighbors Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Ivory Coast as a national initiative.
Wetlands International and Wadden Sea Flyway Initiative are supporting partners. This year’s total count of the International Waterbirds Census which always starts in January of each year, beginning from Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, Lofa River Mouth in Bomi County, Montserrado Wetland in Monrovia, Marshall Wetland in Margibi County and Edina Wetland in Grand Bassa. This year’s total count will last for 18 days, beginning January 11- 28, 2023.
