SCNL and its partners conclude Intensification and Acceleration Training in Gbarpolu County

                        Beneficiaries appreciate SCNL partners for safety training

The Liberia Forest Sector Project, (LFSP), funded by the Government of Norway, through the World Bank, implemented by the Forestry Development Authority, (FDA), through the Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia ((SCNL), and IDH-the Sustainable Trade Initiative, under the Joint Venture (JV), hold intensification and acceleration of impacts on livelihood development and land use support to Cluster Communities in North West Landscape, have concluded the training for beneficiaries of motorbikes in Gbarpolu County. The month-long safety training comes after LFSP with funding from the Government of Norway, donated 52 motorbikes to forest-edge community dwellers in Western Liberia.

 The training focused on health and safety, motorbike management and maintenance theory, presented by Nick Benitos Goll, Environmental Safeguard Coordinator, REDD+ Implementation Unit (RIU)-EPA, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, presented by Hawa Biddle- Dugbeh, SCNL Gender, and Safeguard Officer, and business.

At the end of the training, participants from Tima Town, Jawejeh, Beaden, Kongba, and Normon appreciated SCNL and its partners for not only donating motorbikes to them but ensuring the safety measures are put in place to guide them.
