SCNL Joins YWARPD in Launching a tree planting campaign

… Empowering women, finding ways to protect the environment

 Today, March 9, 2023, the Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia (SCNL) joined Young Women’s Action for Rights, Peace and Development (YWARPD), a newly established organization, established by vibrant young ladies from tertiary universities that seek to serve as an advocacy mechanism for the cause of young women in Liberia, in launching a [ tree planting campaign]. The campaign will seek to mobilize young people across the country to plant 5,000 trees in 2023, under the theme: Plant a tree, save the environment.

 SCNL, as a leader in conservation, was pleased to have graced the auspicious ceremony meant to protect the environment. The launching program, which includes a walk for the girl child and environment, took place at Jacob Town, on the Japanese Freeway, as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day.
